Authorized Testing Inc. (ATI) provides independent design qualification testing, inspection, and certification services for compressed-gas cylinders, pressure vessels, and related components. As one of the industry’s first independent testing laboratories, ATI is known worldwide for technical expertise, integrity, and reliability.

ATI certifications are recognized and accepted by regulatory authorities in numerous countries. We evaluate prototypes submitted by manufacturers worldwide for design qualification, regulatory approval, and ongoing production compliance.

Across North America, Europe, and Asia, ATI supports independent audits, on-site DOT and Transport Canada (TC) inspections, production inspections, design testing, and regulatory consulting. ATI is also recognized by several foreign governments and authorized to perform inspections and testing in accordance with their applicable regulatory requirements.

As demand for alternative fuels continues to grow, ATI remains at the forefront of design qualification testing and inspection for large, multi-component cylinder systems used in compressed natural gas (CNG), hydrogen-powered vehicles, transportation systems, and advanced pressure-vessel applications worldwide.

ATI also provides expert consulting in pressure-vessel design and regulatory specification interpretation across a broad range of applications. We have helped numerous clients obtain U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Special Permits, enabling innovative materials and pressure-vessel designs that are not otherwise authorized under the Hazardous Materials Regulations.

ATI was among the first independent inspection agencies to support high-pressure seamless aluminum cylinders, fiberglass composite cylinders, and carbon composite cylinders. With a long-term vision for the industry’s future, ATI built its compressed-gas cylinder design test laboratory in Riverside, California, along with a remote Mojave Desert test site for destructive and hazardous testing.
